Jim Devine, Managing Director

Jim Devine established the business in 1986 and over the last 30 years he has watched it grow and develop; in particular through launching Devine Chemicals Ltd’s own range of DeCAL products in 2000. The launch of this product range established Devine Chemicals Ltd as a producer of premium quality products, as well as a supplier.

Jim’s main responsibilities involve chain of supply – primarily selecting new suppliers, maintaining relationships and directing the sales and marketing strategy.

Prior to establishing Devine Chemicals Ltd, Jim started his career as a chemist before becoming a lab manager.

Dan Devine, Commercial Director

Dan began working with Devine Chemicals Ltd in July 2011 as General Manager. In 2015, he was made Commercial Director.

Dan’s key responsibilities involve managing the day-to-day running of the business. Alongside this, Dan manages the global supply chain and key account management. He is also responsible for increasing turnover whilst maintaining the profitability of the business.

Prior to joining the family business, Dan worked in a business development role for IT support company ES Systems.

Phil Weston, Area Sales Manager

Phil has worked for Devine Chemicals Ltd since 2002 as Area Sales Manager. His main responsibilities include the promotion and selling of the product ranges to any industry. He covers all areas but his primary area of expertise is in water-based polymers for use in paints and coatings.

Phil has a long history of working in the chemicals industry, having entered the industry straight from school. He worked predominantly in Research and Development for water-based polymers for paints, coatings and adhesives at Allied Colloides. After this, he worked in the paper coatings industry, again in Research and Development for customer trials.

Alex Taylor, International Business Development Manager

Alex joined Devine Chemicals in July 2017. As International Business Development Manager, Alex primarily develop strategies and plans to further drive international sales. He also works with customers and distributors to increase the firm’s presence in overseas markets.

Alex, a Law graduate from West Yorkshire, specialised in Litigation for 10 years. He has particular expertise across complex advocacy disputes and providing business development advice to senior management teams.
