Esamid Range

Esamid products are chemically modified starch ethers, developed as special thickeners. Products should be combined with rheology modifiers, water retention and air entraining agents of the esacol and esapon range.

Chemical description:

  • Esamid NA: etherified starch
  • Esamid HP: etherified starch
  • Esamid TC: etherified starch

pH:

  • Esamid NA: 10-12 (5% w/w water sol)
  • Esamid HP: 7.0 – 10.5 (5% w/w water sol)
  • Esamid TC: 6-8 (5% w/w water sol)

Appearance:

  • Esamid NA: white powder
  • Esamid HP: white powder
  • Esamid TC: white powder

Moisture:

  • Esamid NA: max 7%
  • Esamid HP: max 7%
  • Esamid TC: max 7%

Solubility:

  • Esamid NA: complete in hot and cold water
  • Esamid HP: complete in hot and cold water
  • Esamid TC: complete in hot and cold water

Brookfield RVT viscosity:

  • Esamid NA: 800 – 1400 mPa*s (5% w/w water sol, 20’C, 20 rpm)
  • Esamid HP: 300 – 700 mPa*s (5% w/w water sol, 20’C, 20rpm)
  • Esamid TC: 800 – 1200 mPa*s (5% w/w water sol, 20’C, 20 rpm)
