1800 Series - Cationic Thickeners

Cationic Acrylic Copolymer, enhances performance whilst promoting excellent spreading characteristics across a range of applications.

1900 Series - Solvent Thickeners

DeCAL 1900 is a novel polymer emulsion suitable for thickening non-aqueous liquids including hydrocarbon-based solvents such as kerosene and mineral oil.

Applications

DeCAL 1900 provides a shear-thinning type rheology and aids anti-settlement. It allows the end user to achieve required viscosity through varying the amount of of DeCAL 1900 added.

Benefits

• It gives a rapid and predictable increase in viscosity to solvent based systems.
• Consistently demonstrates diminished liquid bleeding on the surface of paints.
• Can be used to thicken oil-based paints systems.

2000 Series - Polyacrylate Dispersants

All products in the 2000 series are synthetic dispersants and demonstrate a high degree of stability to prolonged storage under hot alkaline conditions and effective over pH range 5.5 to 14. Suitable uses include:

2020 Series - Polyether Polyurethane

DeCAL 2020 rheology modifier enables the formulation of paints with a Newtonian rheology and is suitable for use in a wide range of paints (from flat to high gloss). To obtain the best balance of flow and sag resistance it can be used in combination with other thickeners, of natural or synthetic origins. It is supplied as a pourable and pumpable liquid, free of solvent.

Applications

DeCAL 2020 allows development of formulations for gloss and semi-gloss paints for brush applications, with excellent flow and levelling properties.  For roller application, however, it is suggested to use it in combination with other more pseudoplastic thickeners.

DeCAL ERT09 Self-emulsifiable rapeseed oil

DeCAL ERT09 Self-emulsifiable rapeseed oil provides a better option where mineral oils are traditionally used as it is solvent-free and biodegradable with none of the health risks associated with petrochemicals. Retaining all of the properties of natural rapeseed oil, it is readily emulsified by simply adding water and agitating.
